The Department for Foreign Affairs is responsible for immigration matters. You will find more information through the following link: www.minbuza.nl/en/search?q=Immigration&p=1. This information is in English language. The CIBG is the administration office for registration of healthcare professionals in the “BIG-register”. They are responsible for the registration of diploma, also of foreign diploma. Physiotherapists have to be included in the "BIG-register". You are then able to use the legally protected professional title. Once you have obtained the relevant diploma, you can be included in the BIG-register. Doing so when not registered is an offence punishable in law. Note that there is no 'provisional' registration: you must be able to produce your diploma. In practice, the vast majority of employers will demand that you are registered, and health insurers often include registration as a condition of their contracts with healthcare providers. Registration is also required if you wish to train in one of the legally recognized specialisms. The above applies to legally recognized specialisms. There is a lot of information (also practical information) how to get into the BIG-register at the following site of the CIBG: www.bigregister.nl/en/. This information is in English language. |
